NAME A BEER COMPETITION

TERMS & CONDITIONS 

1. The Promoter is Ferry Ales Brewery, Ferry Hill Farm, Ferry Road, Fiskerton, Lincoln, Linconshire, LN3 4HU (the “Promoter”).

 

2. This competition is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary. Only one entry per person is allowed.

 

3. This competition starts 12.00pm Monday 12th August 2024 and closes 11:59pm Thursday 12th September 2024.

 

4. To qualify to enter the Competition you must be a resident in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and/or the Isle of Man.

 

5. The Competition is only open to entrants over the age of 18, and to those who have submitted a form via the competition page.

 

6. The winning entry will be picked by an independent judge on Friday 13th September 2024. The winning entry will be the one that, in the opinion of the judge, is the most suitable name for a beer, with consideration to appropriateness, originality and humour. Vulgar or obscene entries will be disregarded.

 

7. The competition winner will be notified via email on Friday 13th September 2024. The competition winner will be contacted directly via e-mail/phone to confirm details. Confirmation of acceptance of the prize must be made by Monday 16th September. Failure to claim the prize will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner before selection of an alternative winner is made.

 

8. The Competition prize will be as below.

 

- 4 x County Enclosure tickets for the Ferry Ales Brewery Beer Festival Raceday on Saturday 28 September at Market Rasen Racecourse.

 

- The winning beer name will appear on the bespoke pump badge on the bar - the winner will also get to keep the badge!


- The beer name will be included in one of the race names on the day


- The winner will be invited to choose 'The Best Turned Out Horse' for the beer’s named race

 

9. The winner and their guests will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the Ferry Ales Brewery Beer Festival Raceday at Market Rasen Racecourse on Saturday 28 September 2024.

 

10. The Promoter will not be responsible if the winner or any of their guests are unable to attend the Ferry Ales Brewery Beer Festival Raceday at Market Rasen Racecourse on Saturday 28 September 2024 due to health or other reasons.

 

11. The Promoter will not be liable if the Ferry Ales Brewery Beer Festival Raceday at Market Rasen Racecourse on Saturday 28 September 2024 is cancelled, delayed or suspended as a result of an act, omission, event or circumstance which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter.

 

12. The Promoter reserves the right to amend, alter, vary, suspend or withdraw this promotion as the Promoter deems necessary in its absolute sole discretion.

 

13. This Competition is not open to employees of The Jockey Club, the promoter, their families, agents, clients, suppliers, retailers, merchants or associates.

 

14. By entering this Competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering prize fulfilment, it is necessary for The Jockey Club and the Promoter to securely hold and process your personal data.

 

15. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing that the personal information that you provided is processed in accordance with The Jockey Club’s Privacy Policy.

 

16. Data relating to entrants of the Competition will be retained by The Jockey Club for a reasonable period after the Competition closes to assist The Jockey Club to operate competitions in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries in the Competition. The winner agrees to the release of their first initial and surname and county of residence to any other prize draw participants if requested via The Jockey Club.


17. If there are reasonable grounds to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions by an entrant, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion invalidate the prize and disqualify the entrant from the Competition.


18. If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.

 

19. Prize winner shall not, under any circumstances whatsoever, sell or transfer their Competition prize to any other person(s) for a reasonable period after the competition. Selling or transferring prizes includes, but is not limited to, selling and/or distributing on any website including any auction site whether it is operated by a third party or by a prize winner.

 

20. Your Competition entry and any information submitted by you must be personal to and relate specifically to you. You hereby warrant that your entry and all information which you submit and/or distribute will not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or any other rights of any third party, and will not contain anything which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening. If relevant, the Jockey Club reserves the right, but not the obligation, to screen, filter and/or monitor information provided by you and to edit, refuse to distribute or remove the same.

 

21. Any personal data relating to entrants will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s consent. Please see the Jockey Club Data Protection Notice and Cookie Policy for further details.

 

22. Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on English law and the courts of England will have exclusive jurisdiction unless you live in another part of the United Kingdom, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
